CFDC Awards Mini Grants to Menomonie School District


The Community Foundation of Dunn County recently awarded a number of Teacher Mini Grants throughout Dunn County.


Four were awarded to the School District of the Menomonie Area for various projects and programming.


They are as follows:


1. Mileage Club Downsville Elementary - $460: To continue a school-wide before school walking program launched in the spring of 2021


2. Puberty Education for Menomonie Middle School - $529: To provide reading materials to support learning for the middle school puberty unit. Materials include a classroom set of two different books on biological gender.


3. Cricuts & Makerspace - $1,354: To build a sense of community between teachers and students by purchasing supplies to make inviting classroom decorations and t-shirts.


4. Murder on the Orient Express - $1,000 (Kari Bostrom Memorial Fund): To use a high-interest topic novel to engage at-risk students in authentic and standards-based inquiry and learning curriculum through interactive activities, field trips and materials.
